Acclimatization in Ldakh
If you are traveling above 10,000 feet (for example Leh), then you need to get acclimatized. Oxygen levels above 10,000 feet drop to 70% and continue to go down to 50%( at umlingla). Please exercise a month or two before your visit to minimize the risk of AMS (acute mountain sickness).

We recommend a dosage of DIAMOX ( also known as Acetazolamide ). 250mg twice a day. you can start it a day before your visit and continue it for the next 3 days. Keeping yourself hydrated also helps in it. Skip smoking and drinking for a few days, while your body gets adjusted to the climate. In case of emergency we do have oxygen bottles at disposal.

Please note. We highly recommend you consult your doctor before you use this medicine.
Lugguage
All your luggage will be carried in the backup vehicles and cannot be accessed during the ride. You may keep necessary things in a small bag ( camera batteries, snacks, water) and carry it with you on your bike.

The vehicle always stays on the tail end and is usually 30-45 minutes behind.

Riding gear
Please carry your own riding gear along with helmet and a cardo ( for communication). In case of emergency ,we can arrange jacket or helmets for you but we highly suggest to bring your own.
Currency to carry?
Please carry USD 100 bills (preferably 2017 and above series), for personal use. 2009 and below series are banned in Bhutan, Nepal, and India, thought 2013 series may still work at some places.
